Still looking for places to add to your bucket list this year? I added five more budget friendly destinations that you should visit 2017.

1.Brussels, Belgium

Brussels seems to be the underdog when it comes to traveling to Europe. For some strange reason it’s treated like a pass through city rather than a final destination. From the East Coast you can land a great flight deal to Brussels and similar to Budapest, 5-star hotels barely exceed the $150 per night mark. It is a beautiful city and from there you can take a day trip to Brugge, which is a short hour away by train. Don’t sleep on it in 2017!

2.Ukraine

Ukraine may not be the first place (or any place for that matter) that comes to mind when you think about your future travel plans, and I really want to challenge that. Roundtrip tickets to Ukraine can range anywhere from $350 – $500 and accommodation at a nice Airbnb (or hotel) will be anywhere between $25-$80 a night. In Ukraine, you can enjoy the fast paced metropolitan city life or you can take a quick train ride to some of mother nature’s greatest creations. Dining and activities in Ukraine are very cheap and you can enjoy intercity train rides for as little as $10. I’m not biased or anything (wink) but you should pay Kamenets Podislky a visit – that’s my motherland!

3.Bali

Perhaps you’re not as crazy as me to go to Bali for a long weekend but the great thing about Bali is that accommodation, and basically everything else, is really cheap. While flights are on the higher end of the spectrum (lowest I’ve seen from big hubs were in the mid $500’s roundtrip),  you can really get unbelievable deals on Airbnb and hotels. No, seriously, there are OK hotels that start at $8 a night and huge villas for less than $100 a night.

4.Lisbon

Lisbon is an absolute gem and one of the most beautiful places I’ve been to. TAP Portugal has some incredible prices on flights to Lisbon. It is such an underrated destination and worth the visit. From NYC, a flight to Lisbon is just about 6 hours … same as a flight to California. Portugal’s capital city is full of pastel colored houses, ancient ruins, cobbled alleyways and a colorful castle among other exciting sights to see.

5.U.S.V.I

I am in love with St.Thomas and it’s neighboring islands. It is arguably my favorite place in the Caribbean (besides Cuba of course). Flight and hotel packages go as low as $500 per person for a long weekend of 3-4 nights. I’ve been to St.Thomas during peak season and during off peak (summer) and the weather was perfect both times. The food is cheap and delicious and the variety of activities available are unparalleled with. You can take a boat for $20 roundtrip and visit St. John’s nearby which is home to some of the world’s best beaches. Or you can take a day tour to the British Virgin Islands to see places like Virgin Gorda and Jost Van Dyke. Here’s a little secret: Coki beach in St.Thomas is the best for snorkeling; no tours required.
