- I was born in this picture perfect Ukrainian city called Kamenets Podilsky but I’ve lived in the US virtually my entire life. I like to think that my moral compass has the best of the two cultures: hospitality + family values from Eastern Europe and progressive thinking + ambition from New York. ⁣
⁣
- I enjoy an americano w/ cold milk (sorry to my Italian friends) and a glass of pinot noir … often in the same sitting 😌
⁣
- I believe that your relationship to everyone else is an extension of your relationship to yourself. I am constantly evolving and I believe strongly in love, coexistence, tolerance, giving, creating and so on. ⁣
⁣
- I was born with a small heart defect and had open heart surgery at the age of four.⁣
⁣
- I am a cancer survivor branded with 10 scars & I have a portfolio of over 2 dozen surgeries 🎗⁣
⁣
- I have a charity for underserved families who have kids with chronic illnesses - over the last 5 years, my charity raised a quarter million 💵

- I don’t eat mushrooms or onions 🥴⁣

- My first real job was selling cell phones, plans and accessories 📱 ⁣

- I hate regular water but love sparkling water 😋⁣

& probably the biggest issue people have with picking wine is that there are too many choices and they quickly get caught up in decision fatigue 😵‍💫⁣

My family and I have been purchasing wine from @wtso for a few years now. We get weekly shipments that are hand picked and curated by wine connoisseurs. The prices online are nearly always cheaper than in store and you can be certain that, even picking blindly, you’ll get a good bottle ☺️⁣

I love speedwalking 20 blocks because there’s no way I’m getting in an Uber during surge times.⁣

I love eating dollar pizza and that seats are not necessary. ⁣

I love feeling a different energy every 10 blocks: from Chinatown to Little Italy to Little Ukraine 😍⁣

I love the constant reminder that you can start over at any minute. ⁣

This was my first trip in 2021 where I didn’t work with any brands, hotels, or airlines. Booked a flight on Friday and flew out on Tuesday with a small carry-on ✈️ ⁣

My average screen time during the four days I spent on this magical island was only 3 hours (most of which was for music and reading anyway). The sun set after 9PM, so all the days were filled with light, good vibes, good food and most importantly … the best company 😍. ⁣

How many times have you said (or heard someone else say): “this is just the way I am” ? ⁣

This happens often. Especially when we are on the defensive end. You’re in the middle of an argument, your partner calls out one of your faulty traits and you respond “this is just how I am”. ⁣
⁣
And under this pretense, we expect others to accept us for “who we are.”⁣
⁣
But this kind of approach is flawed. ⁣
⁣
The thing is that nothing is an essential part of you … unless you decide it is. Anxiety, fear, overreacting, over compensating … these are all learned behaviors. ⁣
⁣
They are ego-reactions that go unchecked. They are big red flags waving from our innermost selves that something is not right, but we’re avoiding making the shift.⁣
⁣
The ultimate expression of self-love is admitting you don’t like yourself and coming up with steps to change the things that you know you can and will do better. ⁣
⁣
Next time you are exhibiting questionable behaviors or responses to situations, instead of falling into an illusion of “this is how I am” I encourage you to do the inner work and realize that virtually everything in your life is a product of your thoughts + your reactions. And you’re fully in control of them. ⁣

Before it became wildly popular, Tabacon was just small village at the bottom of the Arenal [Volcano] Peak 🌋 ⁣

People who lived there though that it was just a mountain, until it tragically erupted in 1968.⁣
⁣
Now these warm waters (with temperatures that range from 25C / 77F to 50C / 122F) are 97% rain water and 3% magma-based, as the water is pushed down by the rain and pushed back up by volcanic activity 🔥⁣
⁣
Minerals from hot springs are believed to be great for the skin and body. The water temperature creates better oxygen flow through the body and skin tissue is able to heal while muscles are calm and relaxed 💆🏻‍♀️ ⁣
⁣
That said, it’s not advised to spend more than 15 min at a time, as the heat outside + the heat of the water can cause dizziness, changes in heart rate and dehydration. ⁣
⁣
Tabacon is one of the most luxurious spas in Costa Rica and they have day passes available if you aren’t staying at the property! The prices range from $85 - $160 per day with a meal / services included, (depending on which package you purchase). Entry fees for children are between $28 - $40.
